Willoughby Line Model Railroad Conductor

The "WIlloughby Line".name comes from one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes, "A Stop At Willoughby". I came up the with the name as part of an effort to name my previous layout. While I liked the way the "WIlloughby Line" name sounded, I felt the reference was a bit dark and ended up using another name for the layout.

When I started designing this layout in 2004, I decided to go with "Willoughby Line" because I felt that it described my "proto-lance"/freelance theme of combining scenes from various railroads into a place that seems real, but never existed. I also enjoy the idea that the layout, like Willoughby in the story, represents a relaxing retreat from the stresses of everyday life.
